Discover the hottest trend in indoor gardening! These lovely miniature landscapes bring the natural world indoors and require minimal care. Greenhouse Manager Ana Solares will help you create one in this hands-on workshop - bring your own clean glass vessel or choose from our selection. Spring Fling Open House
Saturday, April 20th - 10:30 am – 3 pm
Stop by Seguin Gardens & Gifts to preview and shop for your 2013 gardening needs. A selection of annuals, perennials, indoor plants, vegetables, herbs and container gardens will be available.
Classes & Activities
Spring Flower Wreath 10:30 am - 12 pm class fee: $25
Certified Floral Artist Susie & her assistant Terry will help you create a lovely spring grapevine wreath adorned with silk flowers and other decorations.
The Edible Garden 11 am - 12 pm
There is way more to a garden than tomatoes and pepper plants! Horticulture Specialist Sonja will help you plan your vegetable garden – she will cover the typical garden vegetables, but she will also highlight some unique (and fabulous) vegetables from major plant families that grow successfully in this region as well as provide you with information on soil amendments, fertilizers that will help your garden flourish this year!
Going Green! 12 pm - 1 pm
Green vegetables go way beyond beans & broccoli! Horticulture Specialist Susanna will demonstrate how to incorporate green foods into your everyday life – beverages, snacks & meals. All attendees will get to sample & snack on lots of green foods!
Compost & Mulch 12:30 pm – 1:15 pm
Save money! Stop buying herbicides and fertilizers. Pass on the legacy of natural environment. Attend this class and learn all the benefits of adding compost and mulch to your garden beds.
I Didn’t Think Oil & Gas Mixed? 1:15 pm – 2 pm
Seguin Lawn Crew staff Raul Ramirez & Edward Daigle will show you how to properly care for and maintain your lawn care equipment – string trimmers, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, etc.

Our Potting Bar is open and ready to help! Bring in containers from home or buy a new one from our colorful selection of pottery and let us help you create lovely garden containers. Use flowers, plants or herbs - the choice is yours! Just a $.75 per inch diameter potting fee, plus materials used.
